Local trio, Simone Magill, Adele Gillespie and Sarah McFadden were all part of the squad that produced a famous 3-1 victory over their illustrious opponents.

Norway who are ranked 12th in the world arrived at Mourneview Park on Saturday hopeful of adding another three points to their Euro 2013 qualifying campaign. However, they were undone by a tenacious and hard working Northern Irish side who ran out easy winners in the end.

Bellaghy woman and Sunderland Ladies striker Sarah McFadden once again led the line for the international side. Youngster Simone Magill played a crucial role in the victory as well as she came off the bench to set up Rachel Furness who added the third and final goal of the game. Adele Gillespie was unused sub during the tie. It was a famous win for Northern Ireland over a side who are ranked 52 places above them in the world rankings.
