LOCAL footballer Simone Magill was on target for Northern Ireland Ladies as they produced a stunning performance to beat Bulgaria by 4-1.
The result made up for the disappointment of losing out to Hungary only a few weeks ago at Mourneview Park.
Northern Ireland now sit in fourth position in the group but they remain only three points behind leaders Belgium.
Magill and Bellaghy woman Sarah McFadden started the game for the home side and both impressed in a superb victory.
Magill opened the scoring after just three minutes when she found herself clear on the edge of the area and fired home from an acute angle to open the scores.
Only two minutes later the Mid Ulster Ladies player turned provider when she provided a great pass to Kirsty McGuinness and she lobbed the keeper to make it 2-0. Bulgaria responded with a goal from a well worked corner.
The hosts grabbed two more goals through an own goal and an effort from Caragh Milligan.
Next up for the local girls is a trip to Norway on the 20th June.
