The Southern Sports Partnership launched its new strategic document ‘A Pathway Towards a Successful Sporting Life: 2013 – 2016’ at a recent event held in the Community Hub and Craigavon Leisure Centre.
Over 150 people including dignitaries, invited guests, athletes and coaches attended on the night.
The evening involved a briefing on the document for dignitaries and guests, as well as an opportunity to see the athletes and coaches in action with a tour of the Partnerships Sports Academy Development Squads for Hockey, Netball, Cricket and Racquets who were involved in training sessions at the leisure centre.
Chairperson, Gillian Dewart commented, “Over the past year the Partnership has worked with internal and external partners to develop a vision and strategic themes that will direct our work over the next six years.
“The range of partners involved in the SSP and their depth of experience in the development of sport places the partnership in a unique position, through which it is ideally placed to realize its vision to strengthen sporting pathways. By 2019 we will have developed a vibrant and sustainable network of sports performers, coaches and clubs across our region.”
The new strategy document is available to download from the Southern Sports Partnership website www.southernsports.co.uk which also contains details on all the partnerships programmes including information of the various Football, Netball, GAA and Hockey accredited coaching qualifications being delivered during our Easter Coaching Week which is being held at various locations from Wednesday 3rd to Friday 5th April 2013.
