ANNAGH UNITED 3 TOBERMORE UNITED 1
Tobermore didn’t turn up for the first half of this game and found themselves three goals down to the hosts after only 25 minutes with a brace from the much travelled Shea Campbell and another from Ryan Murphy.
Despite being outplayed in most departments Tobermore could have had more than the one goal. Scored late in the half, Karl Steele had a simple header at the back post.
Former Annagh man, Martin Hughes should have done better when he shook off his marker and beat the home keeper but hit a post with the goal at his mercy.
Trevor Parkhill’s goal bound free kick clipped the wall and shaved the post.
Tobermore’s performance did improve in the second half but Annagh never really looked in any danger of losing their two goal advantage and ran out worthy winners.
This was Tobermore’s last game of 2013 and the manager will be hoping for a vast improvement in 2014 when they have a tough opener at home to Armagh City on January 4th at 2pm.
Before that Tobermore United host the Craig Memorial Cup Final at Fortwilliam Park on Thursday, December 26 when Coleraine Reserves take on Moyola at 11.30am.
Congratulations to James O’Neill from Maghera who won Tobermore United’s Christmas Hamper. James confirmed that this was the first time he had ever won anything and he has his grandson Frankie O’Harra to thank as it was Frankie who sold him the winning ticket. Thanks to all who bought and sold tickets for our fund raiser.
