Swifts win on road against Ballymoney

Ballymoney Reserves 0

Desertmartin Swifts 2

Another fine performance by Desertmartin Swifts gave them maximum points against Ballymoney Reserves at the Showgrounds on Saturday.

The Swifts missed several chances in the opening stages of this match but it was’nt all one way as it took some good defending and safe goalkeeping by Paul Leacock to keep the scoreline blank in an evenly contested 1st half

The 2nd half started with the Swifts attacking down the flanks,Richard Biggers and Darren Bartlett combined well and it was Bartlett that put the Swifts ahead on the 65th minutes when he broke away from two defenders to slot home past the advancing keeper.

Ballymoney gave the Swifts some anxious moments before Ryan Brown set up Wullie Watson to hit a curling shot into the top left hand corner of the net from 25 yards out to seal victory for the Swifts and elevate them into the half of the league

This Saturday the Swifts are at home to Rathcoole in the 2nd round of the Linda Welshman Cup. Kick Off 1 30pm Dromore Park
