The Under 16 semi final league replay against Cappagh is fixed for Wednesday night @ 7.30pm in Kildress. All supporters encouraged to attend.

Congratulations to the girls under 16 team who won the Championship final against Glenelly on Friday Night. They are also in the League final. Check website/facebook for further details.

Our Senior Championship campaign is over for 2011, after losing to Dromore on Sunday in Edendork. Thanks to all the team and management for their hard work and effort throughout the year.

Gerry’s “Big Screen Quiz” recommences on Thursday 6th October @ 8.30pm in the Parish Centre. All proceeds from the first quiz go to the Niamh Louise Foundation. Everyone welcome!

There will be a one day First Aid/Defib training course on Saturday 22nd October. It is open to all current and new youth coaches. If anyone is interested they must contact Kieran Devlin on 07711071543.

There are only a few remaining Club Rossa Jackets left to be collected. Any Club Rossa Member who did not collect their jacket must get in touch with their “point of contact” to arrange collection.

Alternatively they can collect them from Karla Coney.

Cookstown

THIS week’s lotto numbers were 2,15,18,24. There were twelve match three winners who each won £10. The prize next week is £2000.

Fr Rocks under 13s produced a brilliant display away in Moy on Sunday afternoon to record a 3-12 to 2-2 victory. In a game played in terrible conditions it was the young Rocks who played all the football. There were excellent performances from Fearghal Devlin, Shea O’Driscoll and Tiernan Toner. The boys face Donaghmore on Sunday afternoon at home throw in 12:45pm.

DVDs of the All Ireland club final are on sale on Monday evening at 6-7pm at the clubrooms.

The club AGM will take place on Wednesday 9th November at 7:30pm. Please note that the meeting will begin with an EGM at 7:00pm.

Nomination and motion forms can be obtained from club secretary Daryl Robinson, they will also be available on Monday evenings from 6-7pm, and also can be downloaded from the club website. They can also be forwarded to the club email account at secretary.cookstownfrrocks.tyrone@gaa.ie all motion and nomination forms must be received by 2nd November.

The club would like to express deepest sympathy to the Graham family on the death of Harry.

On Thursday evening past the U16 Girls beat Edendork in their Championship Semi-Final at Paddy Cullen Park. The scoreline of 8:12 to 2:03 means that the team have now qualified for both the Championship and League finals.

The first of these deciders, the Championship Final, takes place this Saturday 1st October in Augher against Loughmacrory. Throw-in time is 12 noon. The Girls have enjoyed tremendous support in all games this year and it would be really appreciated if as many club supporters, players, family and friends could make the journey to Augher.

Kildress

Congratulations to the Minor team who beat Greencastle on Saturday to win the league title. Well done to all the boys for some excellent football throughout the year and thanks to the management team of Paul Bradley, Noel Corey, Paul Corey and Adrian Loughran for their mentoring and management of the team.

The U16’s play in the Championship semi final against Stewartstown this Saturday in the Rock @ 12.30pm, please come along and support the boys.

The U13’s were beaten by Owen Roes last Sunday, they now play their last league match at home to Loughmacrory (date and time tbc, please check Facebook for details)

A large crowd turned out for the youth sponsored walk and funday on Saturday. Many thanks to all who supported the walk, either through sponsorship, participating in the walk or helping out at the walk and funday. All proceeds raised from the walk will go towards running the numerous Kildress Wolfe Tones youth teams.

Moneymore

OUR Go Games season ended today when our Under 10, Under 8 and Under 6 teams travelled to Moneyglass. Four teams in total fielded and competed very well with the hosts and Newbridge.

We would very much like thank Moneyglass for the invite. The club would also like to thank all the parents and coaches who helped out over the season and not forgetting our young gaels who done very well this year and done everything that was asked of them.

The Under 13s lost to Glenullin on Wednesday night but put in a spirited performance against an unbeaten Glenullin side coached by All Ireland medal winner Dermot McNicholl. McIvor and Conway couldn’t outwit their former colleague on the evening.

The lads miss out on a Q/F spot on score difference. We hope there is more to come from this age group.

Saturday 26th November is the date for our Centenary Dinner in the Glenavon House Hotel Cookstown 7.30pm start. Live Music by Hype. The special guests on the evening will be incoming President of Cumann Luthchleas Gael Liam O’Neill, All Ireland medal winner in 1993 and four times Allstar Tony Scullion and Derry County Secretary Liam Peoples. If you would like to book a table of 10 you can do so with Roddy and he will reserve a table. You must forward him the names of the 10 people at time of booking. Tickets are going really well. Anyone with any information regarding club events or indivduals over the history period of Gaelic football in Moneymore and you would like it included in the Centenary Booklet can you forward the info to Stephen Barker or Roddy McIvor before the end of September.

And for the U10’s, the Pearse Kennedy tournament will take place on Saturday 8th. Both will be kicking off at 10.30. All available help appreciated.

We want photographs of any of our members who are travelling around the world or even locally, either on holiday or living farther afield. Take your picture at any famous landmarks and send it in. One rule though, you must have your Plunketts colours on.

Rock

LOTTO numbers for week commencing 19th September were 7, 9, 18, 19. At the Draw in McLernons Bar, two people matched three numbers: Ryan McElduff(Tullyreavy), Helen McCreesh(Rock). Each received £50.00.

The September Monthly Draw was won by John McGeough (Edendoit) who wins £100.

The U13s completed their league campaign on Sunday last with defeat away to Drumragh. Well done to the U13 squad and management of Adrian Corrigan and Adrian Nugent for their commitment throughout the campaign.

The final U8 blitz of the year took place on Saturday last with Rock hosting Killeeshil and Beragh. Once again our young squad of players acquitted themselves well in their games. The U8 squad was: Jason Cunningham, Sennan Devlin, Ethan Bloomer, Martin Ward, Stephen Owens, Thomas Neville, Jake Lagan, Aidan Carroll, Paul McAweaney, Corey McElduff, Danny McCloskey.

Training is now finished for the year. Well done to all the players and coach Brian Lagan for their commitment throughout the year. Many thanks to all who helped out at the blitz with refereeing and to the ladies who provided refreshments afterwards. Our U10’s travelled to Emyvale (Co. Monaghan) on Saturday last to compete in a tournament and are due to go to Newbridge (Co. Derry) this Saturday.

Stewartstown

THE seniors play their Intermediate Championship semi final this Saturday at 4.30pm in Coalisland against Galbally. This is sure to be a very tough game and all support for the team would be appreciated. Good luck to the players and management for the game.

The U16s play Kildress on Saturday in the Championship semi final. The game throws in at 12.30 and all support would be appreciated for the players and management.

The U13s continued their league when they travelled to Clogher for a game versus Gael Naomh Padraig.

This was always going to be a tough game and unfortunately the lads suffered their first defeat of the campaign. The final game of the group stage takes place this Sunday when the lads are at home to high flying Drumragh.

A win will see the lads advance to the semi final so your support would be appreciated. The game has a 12.45 throw in.

Scor na nOg begins on November 4th. Anyone under the age of 17 who would like to represent the club in this year’s competition can put their names forward to Martin Campbell on 02887738140 or Steven Campbell on 02887738730.

Scor is an important part in the GAA and it is hoped that the club will have a large representation at the event.
