Students at St Josephs Killeenan Primary School received expert coaching from Active Communities GAA Coach Geraldine Christie.

Geraldine is taking a six week block of coaching sessions in Killeenan as part of the Active Communities Programme which is a Sport Northern Ireland lottery funded initiative that aims to increase participation in sport and physical recreation in Northern Ireland.

Geraldine is part of a team of eight Active Community Coaches that are employed by Cookstown Council to deliver physical activity primarily to women and girls, people with a disability and older people across the Mid-Ulster area.

Geraldine commented, “Active Communities coaching gives school children great access to fun and quality physical activity sessions.”
