THE seniors faced Limavady away midweek with the old cliché a game of 2 halves being the only way to describe proceedings. The Bridge totally dominated the first half and went into the break 15 points to the good however a spirited second half display from Limavady saw them hit the back of the Bridge net 4 times to make a game of it but the Bridge held on to win on a scoreline of Newbridge 2-14 Limavady 4-04.

Newbridge scorers were: D Mulholland (1-06), N Rocks (1-01), K Sweeney (0-05) and SP McCann (0-02).

On Sunday the seniors welcomed Parish neighbours Ballymaguigan to O’Leary Park on a scorching summers evening. The Bridge bossed the first half and went into the break 4 points ahead and with an extra man as Ballymaguigan had their midfielder sent off for a high challenge. The second half was all Newbridge as they completely over run the visitors with some great scores from all angles with Sean Patrick McCann and Niall Mulholland also hitting the back of the net to help leave full time scoreline Newbridge 2-18 Ballymaguigan 1-05.

Newbridge scorers were: D Mulholland & K Sweeney (0-06 each), N Mulholland (1-01), SP McCann (1-00), C Brooks (0-02), R McElhone, P McGrogan and J Bradley (0-01 each).

The reserve game did not take place as the referee did not show.

The Ulster Feile took place on Saturday with Newbridge in the same group as Craigbane, Lavey and Carrickmore. The lads battled gamely as they drew with Craigbane and narrowly losing out to Lavey and Carrickmore.
