Stewartstown draw keeps them safe

Stewartstown 0-15 Rock 2-9

Stewartstown grabbed a late equaliser in this home game with Rock on Thursday evening for a result that ensured that the Harps aren’t dragged into the relegation dogfight.

The visitors got off to the best possible start with an Aidan McGarrity goal and that enabled them to lead 1-4 to 0-5 at halftime, Conor McCreesh and Gareth Devlin with points for their respective sides. Diarmuid Carroll, Conor McCreesh and Ciaran Gourley traded second half points with Devlin, James Kelly and Ronan O’Neill before a James McCreesh goal put Rock four in front.

Carroll then had a great chance to wrap the game up when he was through on goal but he failed to take it and Stewartstown rallied to come up with the last four scores of the game with Devlin, Kelly and O’Neill getting their entire total between them.

Stewartstown scorers – Gareth Devlin 0-8, James Kelly 0-4, Ronan O’Neill 0-3

Rock scorers – Conor McCreesh 0-4, Aidan McGarrity 1-1, James McCreesh 1-0, Diarmuid Carroll 0-2, Mark McAleer 0-1, Ciaran Gourley 0-1
