Video: St.Patrick’s College principal lauds Maghera’s ‘team ethic’ as they go into MacRory Cup final

The Principal of St. Patrick’s College has urged the whole of the community to get behind the school as they aim to bring the MacRory Cup back to Maghera.

“Three years in a row - it is really hard to believe,” Mrs Anne Scott said. “I can’t believe where the last 12 months have gone and it is just super to be in the final again.

“It was a hard journey and none of the matches were easily won so it makes it all the more worthwhile and exciting too. Next Monday there will be about 25 buses or more travelling from Maghera.

“The experience that we have had at this level has led to a great team ethic. We have moved away from the individually strong players but no doubt Mr Hughes and Mr Lavery will have taken that on board and be prepared.

“There is a lot to fight for - it doesn’t matter that we won last year - the fact that you are there means you are there to win.

“There is great support in the town itself and even beyond that through the past pupils and we know that we will have great support on the day. We know we have great sponsorship from local businesses and we know that on the day everyone will be out in support of us.”
