Knock thirds 0

Rainey girls seconds 8

LAST Saturday the newly sponsored Bryson’s Bar Rainey 2nd XI made the trip up to Balmoral High School to play Knock thirds.

Rainey came out strong from the start dominating possession and putting the pressure on the Knock defence leading to an early goal from Shauna Donald.

This was closely followed with a second goal coming from Emma Currie. Rainey finished the first half on a high with a goal from Grace Kelly who capitalised on a deflection off the goalie to secure a 3-0 lead at the interval.

In the second-half Rainey went from strength to strength, their defence only being challenged occasionally by an attacking Knock side, but with strong tackling from Kathryn Stewart and effective clearances from Danielle York, Rainey managed to maintain a clean sheet.

Rainey took advantage of a tiring Knock side with Cara Suitor scoring a further two cracking goals, the first one from a penalty corner taken by Ciara McNally and the second with a powerful strike from the top of the circle.

Further goals were scored by Lisa Walls and a second goal each for Grace Kelly and Emma Currie to secure a convincing 8-0 victory.
