Cookstown suffered an opening day set back in the Irish Hockey League.

The Reds lost out by the odd goal in five against Pembroke Wanderers at Steelweld Park this afternoon (Saturday).

The Tyrone men opened the scoring with Mark Crooks getting on the end of the move.

However, Alan Sothern put the Dublin team level.

Subsequent goals by Conor Harte and Sothern gave the three points to Pembroke with Jon Ames getting a goal back for Cookstown.
