BALLYNAHINCH II 1 RAINEY II 3

Rainey Ladies II travelled to a blustery and rain swept Ballynahinch to play their plate match on Saturday.

The weather conditions and some decisions on the field left everyone frustrated which showed in the Rainey play as it took a while to settle down. Ballynahinch took advantage of this and on a break opened the score sheet witn a well worked move.

Rainey perservered against the odds and just before half time Bev Wright passed a ball to Christine McClure at the top who then worked the ball into the net.

The equaliser gave the Rainey girls a bit of drive to come out in the second half with a bit more effort.

Ballynahinch kept the Magherafelt ladies on their toes but with a few well worked moves we gained some ground. A lovely ball in from the newly married Karla, Bev Wright got on the end of it at the top of the circle and shot for goal to score.

Not long after a loose ball down the right was crossed into the circle be Christine McClure for the left mid to hit a sweet third goal. Thanks to everyone who turned out on such a bad day to play and for Colin our umpire.
