Bowls: Cookstown’s Mark Wilson gets international honours

Cookstown bowler Mark Wilson will represent Ireland at this weekend’s British Isles championships in Leamington Spa.

This is Mark’s third year as a full international earning six caps to date. He has been selected to play third to Gary McCloy of Portrush and will hope to feature in all three games at the series.

England the holders will start as favourites especially as Scotland are not fielding their strongest team.

The Scots are using the time to let their Commonwealth games players get familiar with the Glasgow greens.

It has been a busy season for Mark as he helps Cookstown to maintain their position at the top of the league and also it is year as Club President.

The unassuming Wilson is the quiet man of the Town team and one of the most popular players at Gunning Moore Park.
