Just to bring everyone up to date with fishing on the River Clady. You may have noticed all the activity and work currently taking place at the clubhouse where a fish counter is currently being built on the river which will be used in the ongoing work of helping to maintain and improve salmon stocks.
There was a good rise in water levels on the weekend of 13/14th August and this saw the first major run of salmon into the river. Some good catches were recorded with fish to 9lb being caught.
One lucky angler with his first ever salmon of 5lb 12oz was 14 year old Matthew Nelson( see picture), congratulations and hope this will the first of many.
