COOKSTOWN is to play host to a group of French motorcyclists in what has become one of the most successful aspects to our twinning with Pleurin.
The bikers from Cookstown club will have nine visitors from the Moto Club de Pleurin from Friday 13th to Tuesday 17th May 2011.
This summer marks the 10th anniversary of this particular twinning link, making it one of the best established partnerships, with members of the clubs travelling to Cookstown and Plerin sur Mer on alternate years since 2001.
During their time in Ireland, a programme of bike runs has been arranged for the visitors as follows:
Saturday 14th May - Mournes / Co. Down
Sunday 15th May- Causeway Cost via Larne
Monday 16th May - Fermanagh/ Donegal
Each run will depart from Patrick’s Filling Station, Moneymore Road corner at 9.30am, returning to Cookstown at 5pm.
Any local bikers who wish to join one or more of these runs can be assured of a warm welcome. If interested please contact Nigel on 07718807633 as reasonably accurate numbers are required to book lunch each day.
As on previous occasions, the Cookstown Bikers are indebted to Cookstown Hockey Club for use of their clubhouse as an evening venue and to Cookstown Twinning Committee for their ongoing support.
