In beautiful sunshine, Damien Treanor hosted his Captain’s Day at Aughnacloy Golf Club on Saturday 28th June.
From early morning Damien was present at the Club welcoming all competitors and issuing each one with a survival pack including the first Aughnacloy Golf Club ball marker.
Damien was ably supported throughout the day by his wife and family who were on hand with refreshments and nibbles which in the heat were gratefully received.
The course had been prepared immaculately and, with the weather just right for golf, good scores were anticipated.
Damien and his wife Jane – Marie had prepared a fine array of prizes to be competed for and so it was with much enthusiasm that the club members both male and female set out to compete for the many prizes.
Just after lunchtime, the captain’s guests arrived and after a welcome cuppa, they too joined the fray to compete for the visitors prizes.
In the evening, everyone gathered for the dinner which had been prepared by chef Hazel. All set down to a sumptuous meal including a special homemade trio of sweets - particularly appetising.
And, by the way, Dean Marshall was the winner - just ahead of Stevie Simpson and Martin McKenna, while Ethel Liggett was the ladies winner.
