High School through to NI Cup quarters

COOKSTOWN High School Junior Netball team travelled to Antrim Forum to play Glengormley High School in the first round of the Northern Ireland cup. The two teams had met last year with CHS winning in a closely contested match.

CHS started the match strongly with each player focused. The CHS attack worked well together to take a 15 - 1 lead at half time. All the players on the court were working hard and the CHS defence were making good interceptions to move the ball into attack quickly and smoothly.

Mrs Cheevers made some team changes at the end of the third quarter to try different combinations and to allow all the substitutes to have some court time. The hard work and determination of the girls was reflected in the final score of 26 – 4 for CHS. The girls have now progressed to the quarterfinal of the Cup which will be played in January.
