AIDAN O’Hagan ran a personal best on Saturday at the Killyclogher 10K road race.

There were 10 Sperrin Harriers competing in the race, and when the gun went it was Omagh Harriers Stephen Duncan who hit the front and was been chased by Sperrin’s Christopher McPeake with Aidan O’Hagan in about 8th position with Paul McLaughlin and Gareth Cardwell the next two Harriers with Adrain Devlin, Flick, and having her first run with the Harriers Pauline McGurren not far behind, then Paul Martin, Jeremy Dobson and Oliver Murphy.

But by 8K McPeake was struggling badly and Aidan had caught him also Gareth had picked up a injury and had falling back down the field but the rest of the Harriers were holding there positions

And when they crossed the line it was Aidan who was the first Harrier in a new Pb of 36-26 with Chris battling on to finish just behind him in 36-50 with Paul next in 39-25, Adrain Delvin 40-00, Flick 41-12, Pauline McGurren 42-50, Paul Martin 43-20,Jeremy Dobson 44-40, Gareth Cardwell 45-05, Oliver Murphy 48-35.

Belfast Airport race

Sperrin Harriers had two athletes - Irwin Speirs and David O’Brien - in the Airport 5 miles in memory of Les Jones.

The race was run mostly in Victoria Park with about 1.5 mile outside the park so it looked like it was going to be a fast race, and as the race set off at a very fast pace it was top Kenyan Freddie Sittuk who was setting the pace with Brendan Teer East Down, Keith Purdy Annadale trying to stay with him.

David was running in the top 20 and Irwin not far behind him. David finished in 16th position and 1st O/50 in a time of 31-21, with Irwin finishing in a great time of 32-45
