In the Second Fifteen League, Rainey OB II defeated Derry II by 32-10, scoring six tries in the process.

With some of their regulars needed elsewhere, others were given their chance and they performed well in an impressive team display.

Rainey scored within seconds of the kick-off and another try gave them a 10-0 lead at the interval. They continued to dominate, especially in the scrum where O’Hagan looks an outstanding prospect and added three more tries before Derry rallied with two scores.

O’Hagan had the final say to put the icing on the cake.Rainey’s other scorers were J. Cassidy 3, A. Lupari and P. Wilson, who kicked a conversion.

In Junior 3, Rainey had several players unavailable for the visit of a very strong Ballymena III who beat them 35-0.

Rainey were down to thirteen men when the game ended. After a hammering at Ballynahinch the previous week, Rainey have fallen back among the pack, but are good enough to put together another unbeaten run, provided the players are fully committed.
