SPIRES Cycling Club have unveiled their new cycling kit for 2012. The formal appearance of the new kit was carried out at the premises of their sole sponsor Eugene Carson.

Spires CC is very pleased with the new exclusive sponsorship with Eugene and Carson / Ardboe Coldstore Ltd and are very pleased with Eugene’s ongoing interest and support for the club.

Spires CC has been particularly active over the winter period with the launch of the first Sprocket Rocket programme in Northern Ireland along with weekly turbo classes and twice weekly cycles.

Now that the racing season has commenced, Spires CC have had members racing at most early season events and hope to have representatives at all the upcoming local races.

Spires will also be hosting a trilogy series of three time trial competitions which will be open to all with a cycling Ireland open competition licence or vets / women with a club competition licence. The club will also host its first interclub road race in May.

Cycling has been steadily growing in popularity in recent years and is an excellent way to keep fit while in a group environment amongst friends with similar objectives. It is also an excellent way to get to know the local area.

Spires CC also have a growing women’s group of leisure cyclists and again we would welcome new faces to come and give it a go.

Spires Cycle Club will continue running group cycles every Saturday and Sunday morning leaving Rainey Old Boys Magherafelt at 9.00am. Saturday cycles will be paced to suit all of the cyclists who turn up even if relatively new to cycling.

The club welcome all who have an interest in road cycling to give the Saturday morning club cycle a try out. Sunday cycles will cover greater distances therefore if you haven’t been out with a club before please phone Robert on 07713890369 to discuss which group would suit you best. They can also be found on our website www.spirescc.co.uk. or on Facebook.
