LAST weekend was a good weekend for the club as we saw two more titleS lifted. Both titles were lifted without either fighter throwing a punch.

On Friday evening, in the Dockers Social Club in Belfast, Audrius Grakiaskis won the Ulster Intermediate Open Championships after his opponent P Pollock from Hillview BC in Belfast came in over weight of 91kg. Audrius came in at 90kg and his opponent came in at 93kg. Audrius was disappointed and stated that he would rather win titles in the ring. The Springhill coaches were frustrated after the opponent after an hour still could not make the weight. Audrius now goes forward to the Irish Intermediate Championships at the National Stadium in Dublin next week. The weigh in is on Friday.

Our second championship was also won by walkover when Naomi O’Neill lifted the girls 12 years old 33kg title at the 9 Counties Championship that were held in Toome. She received her title as there was no-one else in her weight division.

Her little sister Grainne was withdrawn from these Championships after she injured a wrist during training. Everyone at the club wishes her a speedy recovery.

Boxercise continues at the club every Tuesday and Thursday night. All work outs are supervised by a qualified boxing coach and sessions cost £3 for one session or £5 for two. Training is from 7.30 to 8.30 each evening.
