Have your say

JUST when you thought Paul Daly, Aidan Lafferty, and Cathal McGuigan might be coming to their senses, the self-proclaimed ‘three mud seekers’ decided to launch their Cyclo-cross career.

Last weekend saw the three Wheelers take on 7 laps of Lurgan Park in the first round of the Ulster Cyclo Cross series.

The weather was class, the event really well organised, and the course great –many congratulations to Apollo CT on doing an excellent job hosting the days racing.

It was the first time these men had even cycled a CX bike, never mind raced it!

However, they didn’t let their inexperience slow them down, and all three finished in what was a tough yet very enjoyable race.

Well done lads, it’s great to see the club diversifying and being involved in a range of cycling events, downhill mountain biking next on the agenda perhaps?

Aidan, Paul, and Cathal, would like to thank the Island Wheelers for the use of the club bikes.

If any other members wants to try their hand at the fast growing cycling event on the calendar they too will be able to use the clubs bikes, just get in touch with Aidan for more info.

Age NI Charity Cycle

a Great Success

Last Sunday, the Island Wheelers hosted their annual Age NI Charity Cycle which saw over 90 cyclists sign on to take part.

The event went extremely well, and everyone had a great time, made even better by the fantastic weather and the food at the end!

A big thank you to everyone who took part in supporting the event, photo can be found on the clubs website.
