Killymoon golf news

THE last week was a busy one at Killymoon as the season charges on with the weekly Bathe Eclectic Competition now in week 10.

This weekly competition allows competitors to better their scores each week.

Following week ten which was won by Peter Loughran with a score of 37 points, the overall competition is being led by Bryan Martin with a gross score of 53 followed closely by Mark Meenan and Darren McCabe coming in at 56 and 57 respectively.

This week also had the weekly Ladies and Gents Open competition which was won with a great score of 45 points whilst playing of 15 by Anthony Sweeney, John Halferty (of 14) and Niall Johnston (of 10) also recorded great scores of 41 and 38 to take second and third prizes.

The weekend competition was the MacFlynn Memorial.

A large field played a toughly set up course with some real challenging pin positions on a windy but thankfully dry Saturday. In the end the competition was won by Ian Hutchinson with a score of 41 points.

The best Gross score went to Steven Hughes (of 4) with a score of 35 points, while second and third prizes went to Clarke Faulkner (40 points) and Francis Redmond who scored finely judged 39 points.

The division this week were Brendan Bleeks (Division 1) who built on a god season to date with 38 points, Robin Cuddy (Division 2) with 38 points and Rene W Boomer (Division 3) with an impressive 37 points.
