Rainey Club forged through to the semi-final of the Intermediate Cup with a 2-0 win over PSNI.
From previous experience Rainey knew the match would not be easy, but they were keen to proceed to the next round.
Both teams started out strongly but soon Rainey were putting pressure on the PSNI defence. After much attacking by Rainey, Jenna Bowman used her skill to beat the goalie and score the first goal.
Great passing between the midfielders and defence allowed Rainey to have several shots on goal but the PSNI defence ensured the score remained 1-0 at half time.
Rainey came out strong in the second half and prevented any PSNI advance. Fifteen minutes into the second half, Rainey made a break down the left side, and skilful passing ensured a second goal for Rainey from Lorraine Hyndman.
Rainey where delighted to secure their place in the semi-finals of the Intermediate Cup and are awaiting to hear who their opponents will be.
