Tyrone 2-15 Mayo 0-16

Tyrone got their first win of the 2014 National League with a comfortable victory over Mayo at Healy Park on Sunday.

Two goals from the clinical left foot of Darren McCurry proved decisive for Mickey Harte’s charges.

McCurry and his partner in a two man full forward line, Mattie Donnelly ran riot in the opening half helping Tyrone to build up a comfortable lead at the break.

Further out the field Colm Cavanagh put in a huge shift in midfield while Peter Harte and Ciaran McGinley’s direct running had Mayo tormented all afternoon.

That said, Tyrone got off to a fairly shaky start with the defence exposed on more than one occasion, Mayo though failed to capitalise.
