The Taylor Woodrow Cup has come home to Bancran Tug of War club, which is based just outside Draperstown.
The 2013 UK outdoor tug of war championships were this year hosted by the Scottish Tug of War Association in Perth, Scotland.
The final between England A and Bancran was an evenly matched contest.
The first end was a stalemate for a good few minutes before Bancran’s strength and fitness came through which led to them taking the first end.
The second end was a much more stern contest, with England A coming out more determined and getting an advantage early in the pull.
This did not unsettle Bancran as they confidentially fought back, which set up a climactic battle to take the end and the Gold Medal for the first time in 9 years.
The Bancran Tug Of War team, put on a truly exceptional display at the UK’s. They lead the way with style and power throughout the day.
