Video: Record-breaking Dungannon golfers

David White and Patrick McNamee will have slept well on Monday night after competing a marathon session of golf, playing ten rounds - 180 holes in all - round the hilly Dungannon course to etch their names in Guinness Book of World Records history for the most played in a 24 hour spell.

Blistered feet and aches in muscles and bones they never even knew they had was a small price to pay for completing the challenge in which they beat the previous record by eighteen holes.

The best buddies undertook the daunting task to raise cash for Alzheimer’s Society and their hometown golf club and, even though they had set a new record after playing the first hole on round nine, they decided to continue until the end of that tenth round, finishing it with just a handful of minutes to spare.
