MAGHERAFELT’S Ben Currie, the up and coming face of country music, has just returned from a very successful seven-day tour in the Isle of Man.
Ben, who is just 15, sang to packed houses every night performing right across the island and finishing with two nights at the Savoy Hotel in Douglas.
Lately Ben has performed at numerous local events and is in great demand all over the country. Ben’s latest song is another single from his forthcoming album due to be released later this year.
The single Wild Rose of Old Donegal has proved extremely popular, written by the well-known song writer John Nelson and produced by Roy Ballantine at Country View Recording Studios. Local radio stations have given the song amazing airplay and spectacular reviews which confirms the talent and popularity of this young man. His CD “Good Directions” is still available and will be on sale at each of his performances.
Ben is regular support to the many voices of the country music scene in the newly refurbished Depot in Limavady and has recently performed before John McNicholl and Lisa McHugh.
This Friday he will be appearing at the Depot in Limavady before Gerry Guthrie, and again on Friday 21st in the Depot with Johnny Brady.
Later in the year Ben returns to the very successful Jamboree in the Park Country Music Festival at Ecclesville Centre, Fintona on Friday October 26. The festival runs from Thursday 26th with Declan Nerney, Derek Ryan and Trevor Loughrey to Sunday October 28. Tickets will be on sale shortly from www.ajspromotions.com
