When Hannah McErlane was an art student in Magherafelt, she had little idea that one day she would be hosting her own exhibition, ‘Capture It’. Hannah was encouraged to pursue her passion and even awarded joint first in Northern Ireland, A- Level Art and Design.
When she left school, she found herself more liberated to ‘release creative expression, and paint freely’. Painting for her, is a way to process change and to reflect.
Hannah speaks of how recent times have been one of great change, “I’m only 21, the journey that I am on has been one of great change and spiritual growth. During times of uncertainty, I was afraid of the future. One wise person once said to me, ‘The only thing that doesn’t change, is that change is inevitable’”.
Hannah used this phrase to embrace change and start living in the present, where her inspiration for ‘Capture It’ came from.
She says, “there was a great turnout for the opening of the exhibition. I would like to thank everyone who came and showed their support.”
Alan Clarke attended the exhibition said, “Just home from an intimate little exhibition by a talented former pupil in the Bridewell, Magherafelt. Don’t let the month pass without a visit.”
Hannah is now offering commissions, for more info and to preview her work, visit www.facebook.com/hmcerlane or http://hmcerlane22.wix.com/hmcerlane.
