Magherafelt band Rightly On, are releasing their new album May 30th in the Royal Hotel in Cookstown.
Rightly On featured in 2013’s Magherafelt Christmas market, to a rapturous reception.
The band also has played some of the largest stages in the country.
In 2012 they played Belfast St Patrick’s Day celebrations in Custom House Square; supporting Amelia Lily.
For a local band from Magherafelt who has been going for five years; they have achieved a lot in their time.
And with the much anticipated release of this their second album, the future is bright.
Drew Lennox, the bass player and vocalist in Rightly On described their sound as Scottish and Irish with contemporary rock influences.
“We play a really broad range of music,” he said.
“We have described ourselves as an Ulster Scots folk group, but there is a lot more going in our shows.
“Usually we like to throw in a few covers, and put our twist on it. Though we are mainly Scottish and Irish, we would have a more rockier sound to our music.”
He added: “It seems to have gone down well with audiences and we are looking forward to releasing our second album at the end of the month.”
