The Northern Ireland coastal walks among the best in UK according to TripAdvisor reviews

The Causeway Coast has made it into the top five coastal walks in the UK based on TripAdvisor reviews.

And the good news is that as lockdown measures lift, those with a passion for the great outdoors will be able to walk it once more.

The survey of the UK’s best coastal walks was put together by SaveOnEnergy.com based on online reviews.

They compiled a list of all coastal walks on TripAdvisor and created a weighted ranking based on the number of reviews each walk received from one to five stars.

The Causeway Coastal Route came fourth in the UK with an average TripAdvisor rating of 4.80/5 while the Giant’s Causeway itself ranks 18th in the UK with a rating of 4.53/5.

The highest rated walk overall was Gower Peninsular in Swansea, Wales. The scenic walk tops the rankings with an overall rating of 4.86/5 based on TripAdvisor reviews.

In second place is St Brelade’s Bay Beach in Jersey, Channel Islands. The walk attained a rating of 4.85/5, just 0.01 behind Gower Peninsular.

Coming in third is Quiraing in the Isle of Skye, Scotland. The walk received a score of 4.84/5.

Back to the north coast and an educational environmental awareness campaign and action group covering the Causeway Coast and Glens area has been making an impression.

In a bid to free the Causeway Coast and Glens from all pollution, North Coast World Earth has been litter picking on beaches along the coastline and leaving a temporary memento of the visit in the form of sand art.
