Hide AdPupils from Years 9, 13 and 14 participated in “Microscopy” workshops using hi-tech scanning electron microscopes and light microscopes with digital displays and high resolution cameras enabling them to view microscopic details of living organisms, including plants and parasites, providing them with a real insight into the biological process and structures they had been studying in science class.
The STEM Module was launched in 2009 as part of a Government run initiative to promote science, technology, engineering and maths as a career choice for young people.
St. Killian’s is already looking forward to the next visit from the STEM module.
