Clarke Stuart Frazer, Whitethorn Lane, Dromore, was also ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy. A fine of £50 was imposed for failing to produce his insurance to police within seven days. The court heard that when police spoke to him at Commercial Park in Banbridge they discovered that his test certificate had expired on October 9 last year. He was asked to produce his insurance but failed to do so in time. A barrister representing the defendant traded in vehicles by purchasing them and doing the required work to get them roadworthy. He added that Frazer had been in England on business and did not get back in time to produce his insurance. District Judge, Mr Paul Copeland, said the vehicle should have been transported and not used when it was not roadworthy. The defendant should have known that, added the judge.
