Carrick to get replacement electricity meters
It forms part of a project to upgrade 200,000 electricity meters across the country over the next two years.
NIE is responsible for fitting and maintenance of all electricity meters in Northern Ireland, and also reads the meters on behalf of electricity supply companies who in turn use this information to bill customers.

Hide AdGerard Magee, head of NIE market operations, said: “This project will replace any meter which has reached the end of its recommended lifecycle. This will ensure that customers continue to receive accurate information on their electricity usage.
“If your meter is due for replacement and is inside your property, you will be contacted by one of our contractors to arrange access for their electrician to replace the meter.
“We would appreciate the assistance of customers in facilitating this important work. These contractors are working for NIE and will carry identification. Customers should always ask for identification before giving access to your home.”
