Chamber President hails ‘fabulous’ Christmas switch-on event
Winifred Mellett said: “It was a bright night in Ballymoney last Thursday when the Mayor, Councillor Knight-McQuillan and Santa were joined by young people from the Causeway Down’s Syndrome Group to switch on the town’s lights.
“There was also a fabulous line up of outstanding local musical talent. Only Santa travelled a distance to join the Ballymoney team on the High Street stage.

The Mayor also stayed in town after the switch-on to speak to local people and call into some shops. I visited a number of shops myself and trade was busy. “I also thank Christine McKee and the Council Events Team who were responsible for the organisation and management of the event. The Chamber has been working hard on plans to promote the town in the run up to Christmas.
“I encourage everyone to shop local, eat local. You will be able to pick up some wonderful presents from toy shops, boutiques, jewellery and unique gift shops and you will be able to get all your other Christmas needs in local shops.”
