Children go to Warrington
Recently working in partnership with the Good Relations Unit, 20 young people from the City participated in a four day residential course at Warrington’s Peace Centre, as part of its Leadership Development Programme.
Lisburn’s young people also recently took part in a live radio programme, organised by the Warrington Peace Centre, entitled ‘Moving On’, broadcast on England’s Radio City 96.7 FM.

Hide AdDuring the live broadcast a panel of young people from England and Northern Ireland joined experts to explore a range of topics, including racial, political and religious conflict, peace and reconciliation and moving forward.
The Mayor, Alderman William Leathem said the young people who have forged links with the Warrington Peace Centre were to be congratulated.
“The Council’s Good Relations Programme has helped, facilitate links with young people in Warrington. Such engagement and dialogue has created a special relationship between our two areas and I am deeply encourage that this positive relationship has arisen out of such a terrible atrocity, some 20 years on,” said the Mayor.
