Councillors disappointed over extension refusal
A number of elected representatives expressed their disappointment at last Thursday night’s Public Sector Liaison Committee meeting of Council when a senior planning officer revealed the refusal of the plan by W.H. Peden which centred on 112 Toome Road.
According to the officer, the application was contrary to Policy on residential extensions and alterations.

Hide AdFirst to speak out, Cllr Beth Adger said the applicant “only wanted an extension to a bungalow” and called on councillors to give their support in the event that the applicant decided to take the matter to Appeal.
Cllr Martin Clarke said the applicant would not be appealing and that he was “disgusted at the length of time”, about nine months, that it had taken for the decision to be issued.
“The length of time it is taking for these to come back is really ridiculous,” said Cllr. Clarke.
