PSNI officer ‘overwhelmed’ by support after Larne arson attack

The officer, his wife and daughter were in the house during the terrifying incident in the early hours of April 29. They were not injured, however, there was scorch damage to the Glenarm Road property and three cars were burn out.
In a statement today (Friday) PSNI Mid and East Antrim said: “The officer who was the victim of the arson attack at his home in Larne during the early hours of April 29th has asked that his thanks be passed on to the members of the community who have reached out over the last week.

Hide Ad“The officer and his family have been overwhelmed by the many messages they have received. While this was a traumatic incident they are grateful for the support of the local community and the wider police family.
“Like all of us this officer is proud to serve and be part of the Mid and East Antrim community.”
Appealing for information following the attack, Detective Chief Inspector Dunny McCubbin said: “We are investigating this as an incident of arson. This was a completely reckless attack which could have had serious consequences.
“Thankfully, no injuries have been reported in what was a terrifying ordeal for the officer and his family.”
