Motorist caught using mobile while driving in Magherafelt

A motorist spotted using a mobile phone while driving, was fined £100 at Magherafelt Magistrates Court.

Eugene Patrick McErlean, 30, of Mullaghboy Glen, Magherafelt, was also fined £25 for having no licence on March 13.

The court heard the offences were detected by police on patrol at Castledawson Road, Magherafelt, around 2pm.

A PPS lawyer said police followed and stopped the defendant, who admitted using the mobile.

District Judge Alan White also ordered McErlean to pay £15 court costs.
