Open College Network success at Cheers
This 10 week course enabled the young people to develop their leadership skills and covered topics such as teambuilding, decision making, project planning, self and identity and conflict resolution. Two additional sessions included drugs, alcohol and risk taking behaviours.
Course tutor Tommie Linton commented: “It’s great to see groups of young in our borough who are enthusiastic about learning new skills and wanting to pass this knowledge on to other young people.”

Hide AdThe group from Dunloy are all actively involved in their local youth Club in the village and are hoping to use the skills gained when working with the young people who attend it.
This course is supported by Ballymoney Community Safety Partnership and Coleraine Rural and Urban Network who are partners along with Cheers Youth Centre in delivering the Peer Leadership programme in the Ballymoney area.
