Mid and East Antrim Alliance councillor, Noel Williams, has paid tribute to the work of Carrickfergus Foodbank during the coronavirus pandemic.

Councillor Williams said: “It has been a busy time for foodbanks right across the borough, none more so than that in Carrickfergus. They are so grateful for the many donations they have received. This generosity has enabled the provision of food parcels for those in food crisis during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“It is remarkable that since the start of lock down on March 23, Carrickfergus Foodbank has been able to distribute 5.5 tons of food; an amazing endeavour for those who were in need of that type of support."
