Tree planting marks Queen’s reign

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council held a special tree planting ceremony to commemorate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II becoming the longest reigning monarch in British history. INCR39-301PL

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council held a special tree planting ceremony at Cloonavin, to commemorate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II becoming the longest reigning monarch in British history.

After 63 years and seven months reigning, Her Majesty The Queen surpassed the record set by her great-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria.

Following the tree planting, Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Councillor Michelle Knight-McQuillan said: “We plant this tree today as a lasting celebration of this remarkable historic milestone in The Queen’s reign.
