Aileen sixth in Triathlon final
Aileen, who grew up in Derry/Londonderry, has been living in Lisburn for a number of years, and as a member of Lisburn Cycling Club Maryland Wheelers and Lisburn City Swimming Club, two of her three triathlon disciplines have very much been prepared for locally.
Aileen took on the gruelling 1500m swim, 40km cycle and 10km run in Strathclyde Country Park this morning.

Last year Aileen, who represented Ireland at the London 2012 Olympics, took the decision to train in various warm-weather locations around the globe in 2013.
She was based in Canberra, Australia, from January until March.
This was followed by training camps in the USA and various other locations.

Hide AdSpeaking about the decision, Aileen said: “Coach Darren Smith has a group of internationally recognised triathletes and I’m looking forward to the challenge of training with them.
“I really enjoy training in Northern Ireland with Lisburn City Swimming Club and Maryland Wheelers but I will now have the opportunity to train in Australia with the girls I will be racing against as well.
“I hope to bring back some of the lessons I’ve learnt to Northern Ireland before I finish my career.”
