It never rains but it pours for Dempsey’s Larne CC
The Sandy Bay men have played just one match since the season began a month ago - and that was a six-wicket home defeat to Holywood in NCU Section 2.
Since then, fixtures against Drumaness, Dundrum and Victoria have all been put on the back-burner. But, if the elements play ball this week, Larne will now have a glut of games to contend with.

“We haven’t been able to train because of the weather and there are a lot of boys who are frustrated,” said Dempsey. “They just want to play cricket and we can’t get a game at the minute.
“Because of the rain, our ground has been soaking and we haven’t been able to practise. We have been trying to get down (to Sandy Bay) and do a bit of fielding but we haven’t been able to get that much done.
“It looks like it’s going to be hectic for us next week with four matches in five days and the games are coming thick and fast.”
