Islanders crash out of Border Cup
After a drab opening period the Belfast side drew first blood on 25 minutes when ex-Carrick man Barry Bloomer scored with a straightforward tap-in which was laid on a plate for him by Graham Beck.
Bloomer came close five minutes later but was denied by a fine save by Island stopper David Harrison.

Hide AdFoundry left the Islanders with a lot of work to do just before the hour when Bloomer gleefully headed in Willie McCombe’s teasing cross to make it 2-0.
Stephen Donald’s charges probed for a way back into the tie and pulled one back on 73 minutes when Martin Harris found the bottom corner after good work from skipper Billy Waide on the right wing.
With the home side pushing for the equaliser it was Foundry who made sure their name was in the hat for the next stage of the competition when Darren McCombe converted after being set up by Paul McCombe.
Islandmagee: Harrison, Craig, Lough, C. Harris, Phillips, Moffatt, Smith (Orr), Scott, Rainey (M. Harris), Waide, McGrath (Kerby).
