Scarva woman Jill wins silver medal in Special Olympics World Games
Jill, 29, secured Silver in golf (Level 2 Alternate Shot), along with her playing partner, Ursula McDonnell who is from Belfast.
Jill’s success helped to bring Team Ireland’s final tally to a massive 86 medals.

Hide AdThe curtain came down on the Special Olympics World Summer Games on Sunday with a spectacular Closing Ceremony. Team Ireland’s athletes are expected to receive a hero’s welcome when they return to Dublin today (Tuesday).
Speaking of Team Ireland’s success, CEO Matt English said: “To represent your country at Olympic level is a fantastic achievement.
“The many medals, ribbons and personal bests recorded by our athletes is just the icing on the cake.
“The experience of coming to Los Angeles and competing on a global stage is such a huge honour and all of our athletes and coaches can be so very proud of their efforts.”
Shaun Cassidy, regional director, Special Olympics Ulster said: “Our athletes have achieved amazing things over the last week.”
