The pairing produced a score of 8 up in the fourball v par event to come home ahead of Andrew Greenlee and Alan Simpson.
The runners-up posted 7 up to edge out Paul Coulter and Denis Thornbury over the final nine holes thanks to the countback system.
John Mackin and Craig Black moved into fourth on 6 up.

Andrew Poole proved the pick of the Thursday Stableford field with 42 points - with Craig Black next in line on 39 points.
Andy Gribben was next in line on 39 points, with Jason Gordon capturing the gross honour thanks to 73.
In the Wednesday Sweep, Mark Currie was first on 31 points.
The section winners in the competition sponsored by Paul Stevenson were as follows: 0-10 - Craig Black 26 points; 11-4 - David Henderson 29 points; 15-18 - Andy Gribben 26 points; 19-plus - Derek Lewis 24 points.

Ronnie Weir moved in front of Malcolm Weir thanks to the countback, with both on 29 points.
The Ulster Cup players marched in the second round courtesy of a 6-1 victory around the home leg on Sunday against Carnalea.
It left Portadown clear by 8-6 overall.
Don Carville registered a win of 2&1 - with Stevie Wray (5&3), Stevie Aston (3&2), Ashley Elliott (7&6), Ken McKeen (6&5) and Gareth Robinson (3&2) also on top. Paul Hanna lost out on 3&2.
