Wily Tweed edges out young hotshot Sweeney in excellent Steven Doey Memorial final
The handicap system saw Dixie give Corey a 25 point handicap each frame.
And it was the 17-year-old who made a great start, compiling a 22 break to win the opening frame 77-39.

Hide AdBut Dixie levelled in a tight second frame which went down to the colours which Dixie took with a good clearance to win 79-59.
The veteran made it 2-1 with breaks of 21 and 27 to win the third frame 77-43.
Dixie also started the fourth frame well with a 21 break but Corey kept his cool to clear the colours to square the match.
Poor safety by Corey saw Dixie go back into the lead at 3-2 but Corey levelled again by taking the sixth frame in emphatic fashion, 75-24 to force a deciding frame.

Hide AdThis proved to be a nip and tuck affair until a slack safety shot allowed Dixie in to compile a vital 24 break to clinch the title.
Afterwards Lorraine Hutchinson, partner of Steven Doey, presented the prizes.
