Bikers gearing up for ‘Egg Run’

One of the biggest events in the Northern Ireland biking calendar - the Ballymena easter Egg Run - is celebrating its 21st anniversary.

Organisers of the run, which raises funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care, are hoping that this year’s event, on Sunday, April 6, will be bigger and better than ever.

A spokesman for the team behind the event urged bikers to pull on their leathers and ‘clear out the cobwebs.’

“We are encouraging bikers from all over to come along and support one of Northern Ireland’s most successful charity motorcyle events.

“The cost is £5 per bike minimum donation and Easter Egg donations are also most welcome and these will be distributed among local children’s charities,” he said.

The event starts at Pennbybridge Industrial Estate, Ballymena at 1.30pm and takes a route through the Glens and Coast Road.

The run returns to Ballymena Showgrounds for light refreshments and a prize draw.
